Final Reflection
As I look back to my initial goals at the beginning of the semester, I had many hopes and dreams. I entered this class digitally with many hopes and expectations of a new year with a new outlook on life. Some things I wanted to do differently this year in and out of this class were, studying better, doing well on tests, and creating a healthier. By sleeping earlier, I was able to wake up earlier and feel a bit better every day. However, I didn't have as much time as I hoped to start working out and running. But, I will as soon as I have a bit more time. However, as far as doing welwl on tests go, I do try to review all my work more often. I've been doing a lot better on my quizzes and tests. As far as doing it ahead of time, I try to do things ahead of time more often, but sometimes I don't have the time for it. I'll try my best to make more time whenever I can though. As far as reading over the material, I do re-read things before I go into tests and quizzes now, especially for History. I also google and do a bit of extra research on the topic. Another goal I had was looking for better ways to study. I do try to study with friends now, although sometimes I feel like it doesn't help much. From now on, I am going to try to study more on the past context though. I think looking over past context helps a lot on the grasp of knowledge for materials you've covered a few weeks back.
This class has helped me learn a lot about life. One key thing athat helped me in life through this class was the ability to set and maintain goals. Over the course of this semester, I've been looking back toward the Goals list I made at the beginning. I think setting goals is a key importance to success in the future. Throughout my life, as hard as it is to believe, I've never made an actual goals list and ways to achieve the goals. I've learned now that, you need to plan your goals accordingly and make sure they are achievable, because if you plan your goals ahead of time, it makes life and success so much easier now, and in the future. From now on, I'll be using the goal-setting chart in the future. Another thing that I have learned through this class is the ability to slow down and read. After reading countless primary sources, I learned how to really anaylze long documents that were written in English that was before our time. By doing so, I started to slow down my reading, and thinking of what every sentence truly meant. That will really help me in life when not understanding thing. They say Patience is virtue, and now I finally understand why.
Through this class, I think the main academic skill that helped me achieve so much is slowing down. As stated earlier, slowing down and reading and taking things slowly is a really improtant skill that many people need in life. Through this class, I really know how to slow down. I think over time and in the future, I will continue working on the patience thing so that things get faster. I think over a long period of time, your skills of reading becomes more accurate and percise. That's what I hope for my future. I really want to be able to read and understand context a lot faster. But, wherever the future takes me, I'll never forget what I learned in this class.
